Sawasdee ka!
Bangkok is a city overflowing with energy 24/7. That's exactly why your hotel needs to be a perfect balance of "convenience" and "relaxation."
The hotel I'm introducing today, "DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit," is a hidden gem. It sits right off the main street, but just a few steps into the alley (Soi) grants you an incredible "silence"!
I'm going to report everything honestly, including the "God-tier service" from the staff and the "impressive breakfast" I experienced during my stay! βοΈ
Why is this hotel so popular?
There are countless Hilton properties in Bangkok, but there are three clear reasons why people choose this one!
1. Welcomed with a "Warm Cookie"
You can't talk about DoubleTree without mentioning the "Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie" handed to you at check-in πͺ. In the humid heat of Bangkok, this hospitality melts away your travel fatigue the moment you take a bite!
2. A View with a Sense of "Openness"
Even though it's surrounded by skyscrapers, the windows are large, creating an amazing sense of openness! There's zero claustrophobia (no staring at a concrete wall next door). You get the dynamic Bangkok skyline all to yourself.
3. Sukhumvit Soi 2: A "Quiet Hideaway"
It's just a few minutes from the lively main road. But this "short distance" completely blocks out the noise. Despite being in the middle of a metropolis, the environment is surprisingly quiet at night, ensuring a deep sleep.
π Service: Heartwarming "Digital" & "Analog" Hospitality
What moved me the most during this stay was the outstanding friendliness of the staff! β¨
From the front desk to the staff at the 1st-floor bar "THE BLEND," everyone treated me with a smile and genuine care. The Thai "hospitality of smiles" is alive and well here, making it incredibly comfortable.
And what surprised me was receiving a greeting SMS from the staff asking, "How is your stay? Is there anything we can help you with?" during my stay! π±
I've stayed at many hotels, but this is a rare experience. The personal care given to each guest, while using digital tools, made me say "Wow!" It gave me such peace of mind knowing I could consult them instantly if I had any trouble.
π [Important] Access Guide: Choose based on your luggage!
Be warned: Bangkok's sidewalks are not as well-paved as in some other countries. β οΈ
| Situation | Recommended | Real Advice |
|---|---|---|
| From Airport | Taxi / Grab | γStrongly RecommendedγClose to the highway exit. Door-to-door is easy, and traffic impact is relatively low here. |
| Walking without luggage | Walk (BTS) | About 5-8 mins from BTS Ploenchit Station. The road is flat, so it's easy if you're empty-handed! |
π‘ Tips to Avoid Disappointment
- Watch out for the sidewalk from Ploenchit Station!: The path from the station to the hotel has typical Thai pavement issues (uneven surfaces, etc.). It's fine for walking, but dragging a suitcase might be tough. If you're tired from a flight, I highly recommend taking a car/taxi instead of the train.
- Don't walk from "Nana Station" side!: The neighboring Nana Station is close too, but the area is extremely lively (too much night energy!), and walking through the crowds with luggage can be stressful π¦. Ploenchit side is the correct answer.

π For Elite Members: What about the Lounge?
Diamond and Gold members might be wondering about the lounge. This hotel does NOT have an Executive Lounge.
However, instead, you receive drink tickets usable at the 1st-floor bar "THE BLEND."
It's not a self-service buffet, but you can enjoy a drink made by a pro in a sophisticated bar atmosphere. If you prefer a calm environment, this is actually better received by many! πΈ
π³ Breakfast: Worth it even for Foodies!
Bangkok has tons of delicious street food, but breakfast here is worth dedicating a meal to! The variety, from Thai cuisine to international dishes, is impressive.
- Live Kitchen: Freshly made egg dishes and noodles!
- Must-Eats: Thai Congee (Joke) and Green Curry.
- Dessert: Fresh tropical fruits and freshly baked bread.
π The Room Stay
Hilton's reliability meets modern Thai design! The Simmons bed promises a deep sleep.
The view from the window is open and nice. With a full business desk, working on your PC while gazing at the Bangkok skyline is an incredibly luxurious time π»β¨
