Hey travelers! 👋 I recently stayed at the buzzworthy DoubleTree by Hilton Osaka Castle, which just opened its doors in May 2024!

Located on a historic site near the river, this place makes a serious first impression. The moment I checked in, they handed me that signature warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie. 🍪 Honestly? All my travel fatigue just melted away. (It’s the little things, right?)

I went all out this time and booked a "Castle View Room" with access to the "Executive Lounge." I’m going to give you the full scoop—the amazing parts AND the stuff you need to watch out for. Let’s dive in! ✍️

1. The View is Unreal... The "Castle View" Room

As the name suggests, I stayed in a room where Osaka Castle is right smack in front of you.

▼ Why it’s emotional

During the day, the park greenery is refreshing, but the real magic happens at night.
When the sun goes down, the illuminated Osaka Castle tower floats in the darkness right outside your window. 🏯✨
Having this mystical view all to yourself makes you feel like a feudal lord (or a modern-day VIP). Since the room faces the park, it’s incredibly quiet—you completely forget you’re in the middle of a bustling city.

▼ Is 24㎡ too small?

When I saw "24 square meters" (about 258 sq ft) on the website, I was a bit worried. Is it going to feel cramped?
But actually, the "window-side sofa" saves the day!

Thanks to the layout, there’s a proper chill-out space separate from the bed. Sitting there, staring at the massive castle, I didn’t feel cramped at all. It actually felt like a cozy "secret hideaway" where everything you need is within arm's reach. ✨

2. Executive Lounge Satisfaction Level: High

The best part of hotel status? The lounge access!
Located on the top floor (20th), the Executive Lounge has over 100 seats and feels super open. The panoramic view of the castle from here is a must-see.

▼ Sweets Paradise!

During Afternoon Tea, they line up bite-sized tarts and cute glass desserts. 🍓 Being able to try a little bit of everything is exactly what I want. They really get it!

▼ Cocktail Time

From evening onwards, it’s alcohol and hors d'oeuvres time.
Of course, they have prosciutto and cheese, but they also serve hot meals (like fried foods), so you won’t go hungry while drinking (lol).
Toasting with sparkling wine with the Osaka Castle night view in the background... 🥂
It feels like the ultimate "Successful Vacation." I honestly didn't want to leave! 😂

3. A Breakfast That gives you Energy

The next morning, I headed to the restaurant "SEN" on the 6th floor.
The theme of the breakfast here is surprisingly "OMOROI"!
(Quick Japanese lesson: "Omoroi" is Osaka dialect for "Funny" or "Interesting/Entertaining"!) 🐙

True to Osaka's reputation as "The Nation's Kitchen," the menu is extensive. But what shocked me was the "Doteyaki Croquette"!
Taking a classic Osaka dish (beef tendon stew) and turning it into a croquette shows such playful creativity. There are even stalls that look like street food vendors. It was exciting right from the morning! ✨

⚠️ 【Honest Review】Good to Know Before You Go!

It was a fantastic stay, but to make sure you have the best time, here are some real tips:

  • Give yourself time for check-in!
Because it's a popular new hotel, there was quite a wait at the front desk 💦. Don't expect to rush into your room the second you arrive; just relax and enjoy the cookie.
  • It's a bit of a walk to the "Nightlife"
The area around the hotel is a government district, so it's very safe and quiet, but you have to walk a bit to find lively izakayas or bars. I recommend adopting a "relax in the hotel" or "enjoy a peaceful walk" mindset here.
  • Price Check Tip:
Rates fluctuate. Weekdays are significantly cheaper than weekends. Check the official site or booking apps for the "Flexible Rate" if you aren't 100% sure of your dates.

Summary: Is it worth the stay?

Despite a little wait at check-in, the "View" and "Food" more than made up for it!
Watching the illuminated Osaka Castle in a quiet environment while enjoying delicious lounge food...
If you want a "Grown-up Osaka Stay" away from the chaotic crowds of Dotonbori, I fully recommend this place! 👍
